Default Guild Hopping

So...My friend was making a guild and he had 8 members after the first day...he woke up in the mourning and had 3 members...After that day he recruited 12 more members...woke up and had 2 members left...guild hopping has goto be stopped. You should have to stay in your guild for at least a week (Onless kicked) and leaders should be able to look up Guild Hopping history...

just an idea

So you'd be stuck in a guild if you didn't want to stay in it?

If your friend was making a guild from scratch, then the turnover is going to be high. If it's high, there doesn't seem to be any incentive to stay, especially true if it's a new guild.

What do you expect when you go around spamming "New Guild looking for members"?
A good guild needs to be built up carefully and not just take random people.

Yes, that would teach you not to stay in random Guilds...there really is no point. Then a lot more players would learn to stay in Guilds if they chose more carefully...that is what im trying to get at.

!! aa !!, frankly i don't know how you come up with such ideas... I don't like the 'hopping' either but you can't possibly control other players! your friend might just be a bit unexperienced.

Do you mean to use the word, "join" not "stay?"

To clarify: Are you saying that it's up to the new recruit to decide whether a guild is for him/her before joining? If so, I propose that it is just as much your responsibility to psychoanalyze your new recruit before inviting them, to make sure they are a good fit.

What are your recruiting methods? Do you invite random people? Random invites = random behavior. Talk to the people first.

I suggest your "friend" get a forum, describe what the guild is about, write a Code of Conduct, etc., to minimize surprises.

People will stay if they want to. You should make sure there is something to keep them there, not to be forced.

the key word here is "pick up" .... PUGs FAIL!..... guilds has to have a group of people that doesn't necessarily have to be friends but should have somewhat the same goal. Whether it be PvE, Tombs, or GvG. Picking up people will not work because as soon as the poeple realize the guild is going no where people will leave. You should accept people with vent/ts those poeple say longer. It is harder to leave a guild that you have spoken too than it is to leave a person you know by a bunch of text. All in all it comes down to keeping the members interest.

I would love a guild hopping feature with every guild invite you have you can test out each guild without having to lose the rest of the invites you lost.

So say you GVG for guild "A", you get their tag. Unclick the current guild "A" tag, check another guild "B" tag box and repeat. Until you decided which guild you like among the rest.

Theres many reasons for guild hopping. Being stuck in a guild for a week that you dont like isnt fair. The only real reason guild hopping is bad is you lose 100g per person that leaves. If its such a big deal, make them pay 100g to join the guild.

So if I join a crappy guild you want me to be forced into staying in it? How about no? I'm sorry, but your friend needs to screen recruits better or just deal with the fact that people will leave when they notice only 3 people are online.

The individual should be allowed to experience different guild types and should not be bound to the first one they join.

If your friend is having trouble keeping people, he needs to run a stricter recruiting filter.

If everyone behaved that way, then I'm sure your friend would not have many people joining his guild.

Also, I suspect your friend's chicks left him just as easily.
